The Lafayette City Council meeting tonight Tuesday 3-5-2024 at 5:30pm Agenda Item #9 will address the Status of the Vermilion River Spot Dredging Permit and Project. I understand public comments will be allowed regarding this item.

Please do not be lulled into complacently regarding these critical drainage projects because we have been in a severe drought for the last 2 years and have not been threatened. The drought will be history soon as we are changing back to normal weather patterns.

Any support from the public will be appreciated. You can express your support by showing up at the meeting and speaking in support of the project. Doing so would be tremendous and help let the council and the administration know the public supports this project.

You can read more about the project at this link. Spot Dredging of the Vermilion River in Lafayette Parish LA – USACE Public Comment – Dredge The Vermilion
